Sparkling wine and Champagne trivia and history (Canada.com)

- Strictly speaking, sparkling wine is only a wine with a gas problem (i.e., it’s carbonated wine, hooch infused with carbon dioxide gas). Some of these sparkling wines are carbonated naturally. For example, old school Champagne gets its bubbles from an age-old process called “methode Champenoise.”
